Margaritaville Hollywood Beach FL Review

The Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is a luxurious, oceanfront in Hollywood, Florida right outside of Fort Lauderdale.

The resort offers so many amazing amenities, like three pools, beach access, multiple on-site dining options, a spa, a Kid’s Club, and so many entertainment options. And even though it’s a luxury resort, it still has a unique, fun vibe.

My 4yo Albi and I visited in February of 2023 for a mommy and me trip. During the trip a few of my favorite remarks from him were “this is the best day of my life,” “I wish I could live in this hotel,” and “I’m so sad that we have to leave… bye hotel, I love you.”

Do I recommend staying there? Yes!

Check out the rooms and book here or keep reading to learn why he grew an undying love for Margaritaville!

My Resort Requirements

When I research places to stay with my kids, I have a list of minimum requirements:

  • Walkable location
  • Suite options
  • Pool
  • Beach access
  • On-site dining
  • Cribs available
  • Parking

Margaritaville hit all of these requirements… plus offered way more!

Location of Margaritaville Hollywood Beach, FL

One of the best features of the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is –location, location, location! The resort is in between the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Directly on the Broadwalk, the 2ish-mile beachside promenade, the resort is walking distance to multiple restaurants, bars, shopping, dessert shops, and entertainment venues. Additionally, there’s easy beach access from the hotel plus complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas.

Accomodations of Margaritaville Hollywood Beach, FL

The resort offers many different types of rooms with modern, beach-inspired décor. All rooms have balconies, a desk, lounge chairs, free WiFi, mini fridges, and roomy bathrooms.

The standard rooms are roomy and offer one king bed, two queens, and partial or full ocean views. Junior suites have both living and sleeping areas and large balconies looking out to the Intracoastal Waterway.

We stayed in a standard queen room, and I was impressed. It was very spacious for the two of us and I loved how modern the decor was.

For more space or bigger groups, there are one- and two-bedroom suites in the Paradise Suite Collection. They offer more space, ocean views, and separate living areas and bedrooms. Some also feature a full kitchen and bar, dining table for six, and a lounge area.

Check out the rooms and book here.

Amenities

The resort is jam packed with thoughtful, family-friendly amenities. A few of our favorites were:

Pools

There are three pools at the resort. Two of them are family friendly pools and both offer lots of lounge seating with umbrellas, private cabanas, and full-service poolside restaurants and bars.

The Land Shark Pool has a fun water slide, waterfall, and shallow wading area. (Sitting at the pool our first day eating fries by the pool, was when I got the “this is the best day of my life” line). The Lone Palm Pool area offers a whirlpool too. On the 11th floor is a rooftop, adults-only pool with a poolside bar and amazing ocean views.

Kid’s Club

The complimentary Parakeet’s Kid’s Club is a supervised program for kids aged 4-12. It’s open daily from 9am-4pm and offers all kinds of fun activities.

While we were there, we saw the kids playing fun pool games like water limbo and water basketball, a giant Connect 4, and a scavenger hunt.

There was also a daily Arts and Crafts Class for an extra fee. (It was right before Valentine’s Day so he brought me a ceramic heart that he painted.)

Beach and Water Activities

The resort is right on the beach and provides beach chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas.

Guests can rent paddleboards, kayaks, and jet skis, and even go parasailing. The resort also offers a fishing experience for guests to go on a private charter boat.

App

The resort has a very impressive app. (My day job is in Digital Marketing so I might be a dork about this.)

You can get a map of resort, check out dining options, view the event calendar, make pre-arrival requests, order room service, learn about the area, request items to be delivered to your room, book a photography session, and so much more.

It’s so handy and very well done!

Photographer

You can book a beach photo session through the resort! The sitting fee is complimentary, and you just pay for the photos you want.

The photographer was great about getting great poses and he showed me the pictures after he took them to make sure I liked them. He was also great with kids!

There is a minimum purchase (I think it was 3?) but the photos are so good you’ll want more anyways.

Bike rentals

Guests can head to the Activities desk and get a complimentary bike rental for an hour. After the hour, you get charged by the hour.

St. Somewhere Spa

There’s a range of spa services including massages, facials, body wraps, and a full-service salon.

Dining Options

There are so many different types of food options all over the resort that you will have no problem finding something you’re in the mood for.

For morning coffee, breakfast bites, snacks, or candy the Margaritaville Coffee Shop is right next to the front lobby. They had everything you need to get the morning started. (We were there every morning, and it was always quick and the coffee was good – what else do you need, right?)

Pool side dining options for a relaxing lunch are Landshark Bar and Grill and Lone Palm Beach Bar. They both offer a variety of bar bites and a good selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. (We ate poolside every day and loved everything we ate!) On the beachside, there’s also the Floridays Airstream Café which offers quick, food truck type bites.

For dinner, check out Margaritaville Restaurant for authentic Florida flavors and vibes, plus live music. Across the street, next to the Intracoastal Waterway at 5 o’clock Somewhere, you can enjoy island inspired food and live entertainment Wednesday-Sunday.  For a more high-end option, you can visit JWB Prime Steak and Seafood for steaks and seafood.

Entertainment and Events

There are three different venues around the resort that offer all kinds of entertainment— BandShell on the Hollywood Broadwalk, Tiki Bar at 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, and Margaritaville Restaurant.

The types of entertainment range from live music, comedy shows, and a variety of classes. While we were there, we listened to different music groups play Spanish, Rock, and Country music. There was a great variety to cater to all kinds of music tastes.
